Songbird by Sydney Logan
Synopsis
Callie Franklin doesn’t do one night stands.
Ever.
She’s far too responsible and focused on her career to ever let herself give in to temptation. But, on the eve of her best friend’s wedding, she meets that temptation . . .
And his name is Devin McAllister.
Devin, on the other hand, has no problem with meaningless hookups. The very last thing he needs—or wants—is a relationship.
Relationships come with strings.
Relationships come with heartbreak.
A late-night encounter in the hotel’s piano bar finds the two unable to resist each other. With her angelic voice and bright blue eyes, Devin’s sure he’s never met anyone as beautiful as his Songbird.
Six weeks later, when two pink lines confirm Callie’s worst fears, she and Devin have to face the consequences of their wild weekend.
And they have to deal with each other—whether they like it or not.
With a love story that’s far from traditional, Callie and Devin begin to wonder if their one-night stand could turn into something neither of them anticipated.
A happily ever after.
My Review
Sydney has done it once again! I’ve completely fallen in love with this one and it’ll always be a favourite of mine.
I’ve always been been a sucker for these types of stories. The writing just pulled me in from start to finish and I couldn’t put it down.
Devin is brilliant, I love his character. He’s smart, sexy, charming, romantic. What more could you want!?
Callie is also great. Her character is strong, fierce and highly independent but she also has a softer side too which I liked seeing come out every now and again.
Both characters together are really sweet and lovable, you can feel their connection through the pages.
I would highly recommend this to anyone.
A definite five stars for me!!

Grant’s aloof nature and obsessive-compulsive behavior leads Amelia to rethink her position until Grant steps in to rescue her during a bizarre kidnapping attempt. She soon realizes Grant is a man of many secrets, all hidden behind an elaborate façade of self-discipline and control.
Grant Palmer spends his days in an expensive suit and tie, funding charitable works for his family’s Foundation. His nights are reserved for patrolling the small city of Asheville and the bordering mountainside in an effort to protect residents from rogue vampires. Why? He has his own collection of kills to atone for from his own days as a rebellious, blood thirsty killer.
Amelia and Grant’s professional relationship turns personal, distracting Grant from his duties. As the number of victims rise, it becomes apparent that a predator in the hills of North Carolina has a vendetta against Grant. Aware of Grant’s increasing interest, possessing Amelia is one way for this killer to enact his twisted revenge.
My Review
I remember reading the unpublished version and I’m so pleased I got to read the revised version.
I really enjoyed reading it. It has a really good storyline and great characters. I liked the mystery behind the plot, it kept me guessing from the beginning and once I stared reading I couldn’t stop.
The main characters Amelia and Drake are great. Amelia, the strong-willed female lead, I liked her, she brought some comedic moments to the story which lightened the mood in certain parts and Drake, I kind of have a soft spot for him. He’s very independent, quite lonely and keeps to himself. The muster behind his story is what drew me in.
I can’t wait to see what the author does next in the series.
4 Stars!
